Hana Amagi is one of the main characters in Puella Magi Hana Magica. She's a puella magi who's currently living with Nanami Aimi a fellow puella magi who first witnessed her when her Doppel, Tomoe summoned after her soul gem blackened after she got attacked by a stalker who was stalking her for some time.

Appearance[]
Hana has long white hair, which is in a singular bun on top of her head, paired with dark red eyes and pale peach skin. She's sort of on the short side and is a bit of a light weight, not very tall nor very heavy.
She can commonly be seen wearing her school uniform most of the time. Though, other times she can be seen wearing her casual clothing.
Personality[]
She has a hard time talking to others, even trusting them, as she's afraid, to be left alone. Embarrassingly enough, she enjoys to read books at the library, which others find hard to believe because of her poor living conditions. Though she tries to ignore what they say about her.
Though in reality, she wants to try to make friends but avoids it due to trust issues that she has had in the past with her former team that she was in before leaving the group due to reasons, involving her Doppel form, believing that she is a witch disguised as a human.
Biography[]
Hana lived with her two younger sisters for the longest of time, while their parents were no where to be found or seem. The three always hopped from one family members house to another, not staying very long. Hana worked a lot too, in order to support her and her younger sisters, Yuri and Dahlia so she never attended classes much, leaving a lot of days absent, though it didn't matter to her if she went or not. She didn't have any friends and not many people payed much attention to her or rather noticed she was there or not. When she was 9 years old a witch known as the Spider Witch, Latrodectus attacked her younger sisters, killing them with herself being helpless to stop anything at the time. She met Kyubey and made a contract with him the same day, wishing to be stronger, in order to fight, to protect. After that she met her teammates (Kanata Sagawa, Subaru Okuma, Megumin Arishima, and Nadeshiko Arishima) during a fight with the Astrology Witch, Ptolemy where she met them and worked together to take the witch down, afterwards they decided to form a team with Hana seeing how useful during a fight she might be and they also became her friends.
A few months later, the girls were working together to take down several witch already in their territory. They were super close with Hana and she started to really feel happy again, and have more of a meaning to her life after she met them, instead of being alone, especially after her sisters were killed right in front of her by a witch. During one fight with a witch known as the Snake Witch, Euryale is when everything changed for her and her team's friendship. Euryale was a strong witch, so the girls were having a hard fight with her, even Hana herself was having a hard time despite her ability to make any taken damage into power. Euryale was having fun trying to kill them, the girls almost died then until Hana kept trying to fight to protect them from Euryale until her soul gem had became tainted with blackened color due to her friends almost being killed, which then made her activate and summon her Doppel form (witch power), Tomoe to fight the witch and kill Euryale. When Kanata, Subaru, Megumin, and Nadeshiko saw this transformation that happened to Hana, the four girls were terribly frightened of what they just saw, believing her to be a witch in the form a human, they then tried to threaten her after they healed up, though she was completely at lost to why they were being forceful towards her and to why they were calling her a witch as she had no recollection of it happening, like she was unconscious at the time and her Doppel was the one in control while she lied dormant unable to move or be in control while in that form.
After that, they went there separate ways and told Hana if she were to ever come near them again or even show herself to them or that horrid form she showed them, her Doppel, Tomoe. Hana then sank into depression or rather to the way she was before meeting them, a plain girl who worked a lot in order to get by, living alone as always and barely attending classes.

Magical Girl Description[]
A Magical Girl who is shy and tries to avoid other due to trust issues. After the feeling of watching her own true family killed by a witch, she began to feel like she needed to be stronger for herself and for her sister who would want her to live for them. It was her fellow Magical Girls that led her to working with a team, though when they mistreated her and chased her away, thinking she was a witch disguised as a human, it made herself worsen to how she was before meeting them, a lone wolf who didn't need to be with someone else. Though until meeting a certain Magical Girl one day after she saved her, she began to slowly break that shell again and become happy once again.
Doppel Description[]
The Doppel of strength. It takes the form of an oni. The master of this emotion uses powerful strength to smash its target's body, pulverizing them. Though they are horrified by this Doppel's power, they are also tempted to believe that this is the right thing to do, ending shameful and corrupted people.

She is super close with her younger sisters and it's vice versa. She would do anything for Yuri and Dahlia, even it meant her working to support them instead of attending classes at school, leaving a bad record on her grades and report cards. Yuri and Dahlia were close with Hana more than any other family members they temporarily stayed with for short period of times.

Hana and Kanata were once close friends. Kanata was the first person who she opened up to after their fated meeting that day in the witches labyrinth. The two had became close over those months they spent together at school, going and having fun, eating, even with her younger sisters and even fighting witches together. Though all of that changed once her Doppel showed itself during their last fight together, though in order to protect Kanata and the rest of the girls but only made a huge misunderstanding and in return Kanata saw Hana as a witch after seeing that.
- Subaru Okuma
Hana and Subaru were once close friends. They did a lot of fun things together such as going to school, eating, playing around, studying, and even witch fighting together. But it all changed once Subaru saw the Doppel that came from Hana's Soul Gem during the fight with the witch Medusa.

Hana and Megumin were once close friends. They did a lot of fun things together such as going to school, eating, playing around, and even fighting witches together. But it all changed once her Doppel took form, coming from her Soul Gem in order to save them from Medusa though she had a huge misunderstanding about what she saw.

Hana and Subaru were once close friends. They did a lot of stuff together, Nadeshiko even cooked food for her from time to time because she would mostly eat convenience store food due to living conditions. But it all changed once her Doppel took form, coming from her Soul Gem in order to save them from Medusa though she had a huge misunderstanding about what she saw.

Nanami saved Hana after the stalker attacking incident and seeing her Doppel, Tomoe but didn't question her about it. Nanami let Hana stay with her family after hearing her own story, about what happened and such, feeling bad about what happened, that she wanted to see her smile at least once. After that the two started to spend major time together, that they eventually started to become close with each other. Nanami start becoming protective of her and falling in love with Hana, that she would become real protective of her when someone tried to harm her in any way. Of course Hana was extremely happy that Nanami was always saving her and was there for her and didn't want to be separate from her, as she was the first person to show her genuine kindness after the incident that separated her and Kanata.

She's very greatful to Karin for being so kind and letting her stay with them as they did have an extra room that just needed to be cleaned up. Karin on the other hand, loves having Hana around, it makes the place a bit more lively as Nanami has a girlfriend in the house that she can have fun with.
- Masato Aimi
Hana really likes Masato, well not in a romantic way, but she really admires him. Since she loves to read books, she has ended up reading some novels he wrote which includes: Midnight Lover, Sleepless Dungeons, and The Adventures of the Vassal Heroes which she greatly enjoyed. When Nanami told her that her older brother is the one who wrote those novels, she was excited and sort of nervous to meet him once he got back home that same day.
Genderbend / Magical Boy AU[]
Set in an alternate universe timeline, where magical girls don't exist, but instead there are only magical boys known as Pueri Magi (魔法の少年 Mahō Shōnen) aka Magical Boys and Witches are known as Wizards instead.
Hayato Amagi is a magical boy and this universes Hana Amagi. He's a magical boy who made a contract with Kyubey when he was 9 years old, after loosing his younger brothers to the wizard. Formed a team with Kouki Sagawa, Sho Okuma, Makoto Arishima, and Naomi Arishima after they met and teamed up to take down the Astrology Wizard. Hayato began to fall in love with Kouki as they spend time together, as a team and going to school together.
Though in this universe timeline, Hayato's Doppel still appears during the battle with the Snake Wizard, Euryale but instead of them all becoming warry of Hayato because of it, only Sho becomes warry and scared of Hayato, while Sho, Makoto, and Noami don't find him warry but instead worries about Kouki and how he acts towards Hayato afterwards. When Kouki gets violent towards Hayato and then forces Hayato's Soul Gem to blacken, the other 3 hide but watch or rather try to without getting sick from it. Though successful, Hayato's Doppel, Tomoe does appear, he's rather more conscious about it this time, which surprised them though when Tomoe appeared. Sho had noticed that Hayato was crying when it happened and saying that he's scared, stop it, don't hurt Kouki, is when he noticed that Hayato had no idea what it was or rather why it's happening.
Of course Hayato then passed out a few seconds later, Tomoe disappeared and then Sho went and picked him up and took him to his bed and cleaned him up, of course he was also angry at Kouki for what he did to him. After Hayato woke up, he noticed Sho but was extremely scared that he didn't even say anything but just got up, put his shoes on that was at the front door and then ran away outside, wanting to escape that place due to being scared, Sho tried to help him but he couldn't as Hayato ran out quickly. When Kouki came into the room and saw Sho, and asked him "Why did you try to help out our enemy?" which upset Sho and he slapped Kouki's face and told him "Don't you dare say that Hayato's a wizard! He's our friend and fellow magical boy... Go and apologize to him now... I mean it, do it or i'll never forgive you Kouki!". That was the last time he saw Kouki and the others since then.
Years later he meets Nao Aimi, who saved him after he was attacked by a stalker and took him to his place. Nao invites him to join his team afterwards and starts hunting wizards with them.

- Her Doppel's name is a reference to Tomoe Gozen, a Onna-bugeisha who was a late twelfth-century samurai warrior (onna-bugeisha), known for her bravery. She served Minamoto no Yoshinaka in the Genpei War shogunate in Japan.
- She shares her Japanese CV with Momiji Sōma from Fruits Basket (2019/20).
- She shares her English CV with Aries from Fairy Tail.
- It's known that Hana had a crush on Kanata when they were friends, though it is quite well known by the other girls as it was obvious that she did like Kanata. After their friendships ended and went separate ways, it's currently unknown if Hana still likes Kanata and things about her (and the other girls) or if she's over her due to what happened to their relationship.
